The Student Residence Permit is for non-EU students enrolled full-time at an accredited Hungarian institution or a preparatory course. It allows limited part-time work but does not lead to permanent residence, and family reunification is not available while on student status.
This permit is for international students admitted to full-time study at an accredited Hungarian education or higher-education institution, or in a preparatory course. To apply you need a certificate of admission or enrolment, proof of financial means for accommodation, living costs and healthcare, comprehensive health insurance, proof of accommodation in Hungary, and a valid travel document.
It is worth being clear about the limits. Student status allows some part-time work during studies, but it does not lead to permanent residence by itself, and under the current rules student permit holders cannot sponsor family members for reunification. Students who want to stay on usually need to move onto a work route once they have a qualifying job offer.
Requirements such as the funds you must show can change, so confirm the current position with your institution and the official portal. ACME can help you plan the documentation and think ahead about converting to a work permit after you graduate.
