This route lets the family of a worker or permit holder in Sweden — generally a spouse, partner and unmarried children under 18 — apply for a residence permit to join them; a maintenance requirement applies in many cases.
If you hold, or are applying for, a Swedish work permit, EU Blue Card, ICT or other qualifying residence permit, your family can apply to Migrationsverket to join you. Eligible family normally includes a spouse, registered partner or cohabiting partner and unmarried children under 18.
To use the route you document the family relationship — marriage, partnership or cohabitation, and children's birth — and, where the maintenance requirement applies, show sufficient income and suitable housing. A valid passport is also needed.
Family members of EU Blue Card holders and of certain highly qualified workers benefit from more generous rules, which is one of the advantages of those routes. Because maintenance and housing conditions can change, confirm the current requirements on Migrationsverket's official site before applying — and ACME is glad to help families prepare a complete, well-documented application.
