Atlantic Immigration Program For International Graduates

Atlantic Immigration Program For International Graduates: No Work Experience Needed

The Atlantic Immigration Program, which is operated by the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada, provides opportunities for international students to live and work in these provinces as PR.

The main advantage is that it waives the requirement of having any work experience for graduates. This means that eligible applicants can submit their applications after completing their studies and before starting any employment.

It’s important to note that applicants must have completed their studies at a post-secondary institution located within the Atlantic provinces. Additionally, they must have a job offer from an employer in Atlantic Canada.

This program is primarily focused on assisting employers in these provinces by facilitating the recruitment of foreign professionals when local talent is not readily available.

If you are a graduate interested in applying for the Atlantic Immigration Program, here are some key eligibility requirements to consider.

Before applying, all international graduates are required to,

  • Possess a degree, diploma, certificate, or trade or apprenticeship certification that involved a minimum of two years of study.
  • Have graduated from a recognized and affiliated post-secondary institution in any of the four Atlantic provinces.
  • Must have been full-time student throughout the duration of their studies.
  • Have resided in any of the four provinces for at least 16 months within the two years before graduating.
  • Hold a visa or permit allowing them to work, study, or train in Canada.

These conditions must be fulfilled by graduates before they can apply for the Atlantic Immigration Program.

Additionally, while waiting for their PR application to be approved, applicants can also apply for a work permit.
