This permit lets specified family members of a non-EU national lawfully residing in Czechia join the sponsor. A key advantage is that holders gain free access to the Czech labour market.
Long-Term Residence for Family Reunification allows a third-country sponsor holding a qualifying Czech residence permit to bring close family — typically a spouse, minor children and certain dependent relatives. The sponsor must meet the relevant residence-duration condition, which varies by permit type.
The family generally need a valid passport and comprehensive medical insurance, proof of accommodation and financial resources, and a criminal-record certificate where required. A major plus is that family-reunification permit holders have free access to the Czech labour market and do not need a separate work permit. Processing is listed at 60 days if applying in Czechia (up to 270 days from abroad, and 90 days for the family of Blue Card holders), with a fee of CZK 2,500 (CZK 1,000 for children under 15).
